Padhead is a free, independent project made by MPC users. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Akai Professional, inMusic Brands, Inc. or any of their companies.

Trademarks

Akai Professional, MPC and MPC Sample are trademarks or registered trademarks of inMusic Brands, Inc. We use these names only to say which hardware Padhead works with, never as the name of our product. All other names and marks belong to their owners.

Our own work

The Padhead app, its code, design, logo, pixel graphics and sound engine are our own work. Padhead does not contain, copy or distribute any Akai or inMusic software, firmware, factory sounds, samples, artwork or fonts. Sounds from Sound Lab are synthesized in your browser.

File compatibility

Padhead reads and writes kit and project files (.xpj folders and WAV audio) only so that your own work can move between your computer and your MPC. It does not unlock, modify or bypass anything on the device.

Your sounds, your rights

Everything runs in your browser. Files you open or record are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for having the rights to any audio you record, load, chop or release. Recordings found through DIG come from Internet Archive, Wikimedia Commons and Freesound with the licence shown next to each result: check the source page and credit the author when the licence asks for it.

Sounds made in Sound Lab

Sounds you generate in Sound Lab are yours to use in your music, commercial releases included.

No warranty

Padhead is provided free and as is, without warranty. Keep a backup of your projects before you overwrite files on your MPC.
